A perennial question that no one gives a convincing answer to. Cynics and, in fact, many scientists clearly reject the theory and yet many celebrities and spiritual leaders swear by it.
A lot of people don’t want to believe it because they don’t see any scientific reason or data to prove it. It is difficult to prove it that ways because science can’t really measure an outcome in the future sitting in the present and thus rejects it. However, if you look at it logically and, yes within the boundaries of science, it does make a lot of sense.
So, let me try to give a simple way to explain within the realms of known science how the law of attraction works and how you can use it to make it work for you – logically.
At any point in time, it is possible to have infinite number of realities. And, by realities, I mean the version of life that you are living at that point of time. What reality, rather what version of reality you are living at any point of time (For ease of understanding, let’s consider it this point in time – the time in which you are reading this text) is completely based on the decisions you made throughout your entire life. Yes, that is right, wherever you’re right now at this point in life is completely based on the decisions you made throughout your life. Of course greater the time you have spent, greater the choices you have had to make. But, where you are in your life right now is/was completely your responsibility and you led yourself to this point. But, having said that, I would also like to point out that the other realities of where else you could have been at this point (dead, poor, rich, the zoo, etc.) also exist; but in higher dimensions. But you are only able to see/experience this particular version of reality because the choices that you made in your physical manifestations throughout your life brought you to this reality, to this 3-dimensional world that you can perceive right now. The other realities also exist but are not accessible within the parameters of these 3-dimensions (length, width, and breadth). However, they can be accessed through higher dimensions. Confused? Let me try explain this graphically:
Let consider your life has progressed from Day 1 to this Day Today (which could be Day 10,000 or 20,000). Now considering your life began at Day 1; and D1a to D1z represent the other infinite versions of the day that could have taken place.
Basically, on Day 1 (practically you were a new born baby, so you didn’t really have much control) you spent your day in a particular specific way. But maybe things could have been different. Maybe your grandparents visited you in hospital or maybe they did not. Even if they did visit, they could have visited at any point in the day, which in itself has infinite possibilities.
Now add the infinite dress combination they could have worn that day. You know, the works. Or maybe your dad dropped you mistakenly and you never would have lived to see this day. But, the idea is that Day 1 could have gone in infinitely different ways. Similarly, from Day 1 to Day Today. your life could have had infinitely different versions of how your life could have worked out. But, consciously/unconsciously/subconsciously, you made the choices you made throughout this period (Day 1 to Day 10,000) that brought you to this day today that you experience in the 3-dimensional physical dimension. Of course, there were certain decisions that you could not influence such as your gender, income status (that you’re born with), your skin color, etc. But, these are very limited and not really our focus right now.
Now let’s try to map this mathematically. If we consider your days as individual parameters (like coordinates in an Cartesian axis) this is how you perceive your life in 3D:
D1 –> D2 –> D3 –> D4 –……–> Dtoday; with you moving only forward in time. Now, note that this 3D is being expressed in the form of 1D for ease of understanding.
Now, if we consider Time the 4th dimension, this is how your life would look like in 4D;
D1 <–> D2 <–> D3 <–> D4 <–……–> Dtoday
Or, another way to say you could have chosen to move forward or backward in time throughout your life. But, note that you could have only experienced the realities that you had lived in the 3D. Basically, your life would have moved from a 3-dimensional cubic world to a 4-dimensional tesseract.
Now, if we add another dimension, which would be “Possibilities”, in 5D this is how your life would appear to you:
D1a,b,c…..z <–> D2a,b,c….z <–> D3a,b,c….z <–> Dtodaya,b,c….z
Basically, you could have traveled through time not only through what happened but also through what could have happened. You could have traveled through all the infinite realities of your 3-dimensional world. Right now, we are looking at it from our perspective, a human being with an average life span of 70 years, and the infinite possibilities that could have taken place.
Imagine if we now look at it from Universe’s perspective. Right from its beginning to its eventual collapse there could be infinite realities for this Universe’s playing around in parallel to where we are right now. Maybe in some of these Universes, you don’t exist, or even the planet doesn’t exist. But, there exists infinite parallel Universe’s with its own set of realities working simultaneously.
Note that none of these realities can communicate with each other within the context of our 3D world. As 3D beings, we’re not be able to perceive or comprehend it. Consider a house-lizard walking the walls of your house. It can only perceive the world in 2D at a time even though it lives in a 3D world from our context. Similarly, there probably are higher dimensions but we are unable to comprehend it.
Taking this concept further, we can actually keep moving into higher dimensions. Although, I’m not sure how this would pan out. Right now this is how I feel the 6th dimension would be. So, whatever we have discussed till 5D exists for this particular universe, the one that we know so far, the one with the Milky Way and the Sun and the Solar System, etc. It is slightly different from the parallel Universe concept.
Note that when we were talking about 5D, you were the observer rather the object against which we had infinite possible running around in parallel i.e., keeping you at the center of the event, infinite realities can be mapped just around your existence. Similarly, in 6D you would move to a world with infinite Universes, wherein, the Universe (rather our Universe, the one with our Sun and Milky Way) is merely a part of another bigger system with infinite possibilities working around that one Universe. Again, this is just my comprehension, completely far-off from the truth.
Now here’s where it gets interesting. I think our subconscious is already aware of the existence of these higher dimensions. But, we can’t live them in the 3D physical manifestations that we’re experiencing right now. Sounds ridiculous right? But, just for the sake of argument, let’s just consider that it is true. And, instead of trying to solve the problem, let’s first try to see if it makes sense. Basically, let’s try to ratify this that if our subconscious is aware of the higher dimensions, how does it affect its thinking. This assumptions stands out in three different contexts:
i.) Psychological context: What if our memories of past or visions of future, and the different versions of it, are just realities in the other dimensions? Maybe our subconscious is able to transcend through these dimensions and realities, but not in the physical state but in the metaphysical state.
ii.) Philosophical context: What if the pain that we feel because of the loss of a loved one or a failure or a heartbreak, etc, is the subconscious’ realization of the death of the realities where the loved one is still alive or you succeeding in the whatever you tried or you did not face a heartbreak, and the infinite future possibilities of these events. It realizes the end of the existence of these realities, and thus the pain in your gut or heart? Of course, there’s a purely biological reason behind why we feel a pain in our heart due to heartbreak (refer to ‘Broken Heart Syndrome’). And, I understand that. But, from a philosophical context it does make sense.
Let’s now look at it from the opposite angle, what if when we are happy about an outcome or excited about a future event, it is our subconscious’ realization of the avoidance of the negative or failed realities that you could have chosen. Instead you picked the reality that turns out well in the end for you, and that’s why you feel happy and peaceful.
iii.) Spiritual context: What if the constant insistence of spiritual texts and books on contentment to live in the present moment, in their underlying text are just trying to suggest that bring your mind to this particular reality. The 3D physical manifestation that it is living in; the one it chose to live in. To bring the wandering mind back to this reality instead of transcending through the various realities of the past, present, or future. Some of these realities might end up in suffering, some in joy, and some might see you as dead. But, all these feelings of anxiety and fear go away when you return to your actual reality, the 3D physical manifestation of the reality you have chosen with no vision of the past (usually associated with feelings of guilt, regrets, longing, etc.) or the future (usually associated by feelings of anxiety, fear, insecurity, etc.).
The idea from a spiritual context could be to bring our focus back to this reality, the one that is taking place as we speak, and the one that we can change using physical actions. You’ll also notice that you feel good when you think about your past or future in a positive light but that still prevents you from enjoying the present because you end up comparing the past/future with the present.
Okay some of these ideas might be really far-fetched and might sound ridiculous. And, there’s a good possibility that none of this is true or holds any basis of truth (or it could be just another version of reality). But, if it does hold some ground, then it opens up a door of thinking. We can in fact use this knowledge of our subconsciousness to understand how to help us grow as a human being.
We have all heard throughout our life that we make our own destiny, or we are all responsible for the state that we are now, or that we can do it, if we can think it, or sometimes even, you can get anything you want, if you can just think it. Well, to this I would say that just thinking is not enough. The idea is to see that reality, and see the underlying actions (or steps in the 3D physical manifestations) that you’ll have to take to get their. And, once you have worked on building the platform, you’ll eventually get to the life that you want. Its pure mathematics. Because there’s no other way. Although yes a comet can hit the earth and the entire race of humanity might be wiped out but let’s not worry about that. (It might have already happened in a parallel universe. But, I strongly believe in this – if you are constantly working in building your life, then you’ll end up picking the realities where the future does exist and avoid such realities where the world goes to end)
Basically, what I’m trying to say is that we can use this knowledge to change the course of our life and improve its quality significantly. Yes, whatever we have heard since childhood holds true (if not in this context, then otherwise at least). We can and we must achieve the best that we can potentially get. Hence, what I need you to understand is that there exists infinite realities in front of you today. In one of your future possibilities you can be a movie star or a noble laureate or a sports star or climb. But, you can also end up as a stripper or a beggar or just a boring bank executive with tons of money, but poor health and no relationships.
And, that’s the thing, I don’t want you to end up as the latter. I want you to see or visualize the good realities or possibilities. In other words, I need you to dream. You can do anything with your life. The possibilities are endless.
And, all you need to do is visualize the reality or possibility that you would like to live in this 3-dimensional physical manifestations, identify the steps needed to get there, work towards it, and I promise you are going to get you there.
Of course, you can’t become a sports star by watching TV all day sitting on your couch. You need to start practicing, working out, go out and play. No you can’t become a movie star or a nobel laureate either just by thinking.
You’ll need to take the requisite steps. Read, apply, get rejected, try again, etc. And, yes you can get that woman of your dreams as well. But, I’m sorry you’ll again have to work towards it. She’s not going to fall in love with a man with a fat belly or shabby clothes (unless your dream woman is looking for the same). You need to understand her expectations from her man, and then work towards it. And, leave it rest to science (yes not God, but science). You get what you attract. Be the best and you’ll attract the best.
And, please no shortcuts. I know automatically a thought popped in your head where you see the reality where the shortcut works out well. But, in reality even if it does work out, you’ll not be prepared to enjoy your success. You’ll always be fending of lies or living a life of anxiety. Here’s the thing, if you do envision this reality, you’ll end up living this reality. But, believe me you’ll end up living a life of anxiety and fear. Like most rich corrupt officials do who end up amassing tons of wealth but end up living a life of regret and constant fear.
So choose wisely.
Because by default you are wired to pick the reality that provides immediate gratification or requires least amount of effort or energy. But, this is not going to give you long-term fulfillment, which is exactly what you should be longing for. Think of your best reality. Handcraft it. And, then work towards it. I assure you the laws of physics are working to get you there. And, when you do reach that life, you’ll understand the meaning of “free-will”.
Also, note that you can only control your 3D physical manifestation and not anybody else’s. So only focus on things that you can do or improve, and stop trying to control the rest of the world. Give up that insecurity, set everyone and everything else free. Until and unless you are free, you can’t be free either.
Remember, you reading this article right now at this moment, is also because of the choices you made that brought you here. You could be watching TV right now or just sleeping, but you chose to be here (unless you’re one of my friend and were forced to read this). But, now you know how to create your own world and that too through something that makes sense in the scientific context. So, what are you waiting for?
